Mr. Sotomayor-Landrón, who has been licensed to practice law since 2023, has focused his practice on commercial law, business restructuration, and insolvency matters. In that capacity, he has served as an assistant attorney for debtors in complex bankruptcy cases, including representing hospitals in their bankruptcy proceedings. He also advocates for creditors’ rights in Chapter 11 and 13 cases and handles diverse commercial litigation and liquidation matters in both the Puerto Rico State Court and the Federal District Court.
As part of his practice, Mr. Sotomayor-Landrón provides strategic counsel on business structuration, financing, and project developments. Further, he has expertise in asset protection to ensure comprehensive commercial solutions, has served as an attorney for Chapter 7 Trustees and has used alternative dispute resolution to avoid litigation and promote business-inclined outcomes for his clients.
Prior to joining SCVR, Mr. Sotomayor-Landrón was a law clerk at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Puerto Rico. During this tenure, he drafted published court opinions and performed extensive investigative work on novel state and federal bankruptcy issues to assist in judicial decision-making.
Mr. Sotomayor-Landrón is an Associate at SCVR. He joined the firm in 2026, after gaining significant experience in bankruptcy litigation as part of his private practice, which was focused on commercial law and asset protection.
